at the end of a scrum sprint we would do a retro. wow am i glad those words don’t mean much to me now because i’m not a software engineer anymore. look at those words bro!!!
so now i’m gonna make the 2025 retrospective list of things i did:
- read 2 books of short stories by Izumi Suzuki
- finished reading Lies and Sorcery by Elsa Morante
- worked a shitty call center job for like a month and then quit to work as a lifeguard at the pool with a bunch of teenagers for the summer. it was fun for me to listen to their playlists and get an idea of what the kids these days are listening to.
- started working as a barista at my favorite coffee shop ❤
- went to see Sarah Schulman, one of my favorite writers (ok I’ve only read 1 of her books, Conflict is Not Abuse, but I got a couple of her novels and I’m almost done with one of them) – she read a bit from her new book The Fantasy and Necessity of Solidarity
- saw a few movies: i loved the new Knives Out one, Frankenstein, Weapons, Sinners obvi, Sorry, Baby, and East of Wall
- started playing shows with my band, Vylette Beauregarde (i play the drums) even though i have terrible performance anxiety but maybe someday that will go away ha ha
- started playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 GAME OF THE YEAR and am almost done
- played dnd with my friends ❤
- went to some fun shows like Viagra Boys, Loolowningen and local legends Worlds Worst, Molotov Dress, Levelor, Baby Ghosts, Chalk, Total Cereal ❤ probably others sorry
- oh we started recording an EP too!
- and some fun personal stuff that i will be keeping all to myself!!!!!!
happy new year!!!!!!!!! don’t use AI and tell every peabrained loser you know who defends it that they are destroying the planet and their few remaining brain cells!!!
